As a Night Security & Cleaning Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the hotel throughout the night. Working alongside the Night Duty Manager, your responsibilities will cover security, guest support, food and beverage service, bar assistance, and cleaning duties in line with hotel standards.

Your duties will include:

  • Conducting regular security and fire safety checks to ensure the safety of guests, staff, and property.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across public areas and preparing meeting rooms for the following day.
  • Assisting in food and beverage service, including providing 24-hour room service and supporting the bar.
  • Responding to guest requests, resolving problems, and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Supporting other hotel departments (maintenance, operations, F&B) as required, ensuring the hotel operates seamlessly overnight.

You’ll be an integral part of our night operations team, helping create a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for our guests at The View Hotel Eastbourne.

This role is being offered on a Annualised Hours Contract working an average 39 Hours per week which will be on a 4 on/3 off schedule.

Annualised Hours is an alternative way of expressing a working contract in hours per year, rather than the conventional hours per week. It enables staff to receive a standard monthly salary based on average hours, no matter how many hours they work in any month. Team members can be rostered for additional hours during busy times and fewer hours during quieter periods.

What do we need from you?

  • Strong attention to detail: As Night Security & Cleaning Assistant, you must have a keen eye for detail to ensure that all areas of the property are clean and presentable.
  • Good communication skills: You’ll have strong communication skills to interact with guests and staff members effectively. You may also need to report any issues or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
  • Customer service skills: You should possess good customer service skills to assist guests with their needs and ensure that they have a comfortable and pleasant stay. You’ll need to be approachable, friendly, and able to handle any guest complaints or requests.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts: It goes without saying, but you must be able to work late-night and early-morning shifts as the role typically involves working during the night-time hours.

**Please note that we will only be accepting applicants who are age 18 or above for this role, and comfortable with a nightshift working pattern, including commuting to and from the hotel**.
