Job Purpose
- To develop and manage performance of a small group of shops to meet agreed targets for contribution and growth.
- To be responsible for the overall performance of their own location and a small group of furniture retail shops which include The Furniture shop, Langney Rd, Green Street, the Clearance shop Moy Avenue, and the Donation Centre Moy Avenue.
- To monitor financial and staff performance in line with business KPI’s to ensure sales targets are met, standards and visual merchandising meet business expectations and brand, and customer and donor experience is delivered.
- To support individual shop managers (locations as above) in their professional development and in developing their teams.
Essential Knowledge, Qualifications and experience
Education and Qualification:
- Educated to GCSE level including English and maths or equivalent.
Experience:
- Comparable retail management roles.
- Stock processing e.g. selection, preparation, and pricing.
- Achieving financial targets.
· Essential Skills and abilities · Specific skills: · Numerate. · Merchandising and presentation of stock. · Administration of cash registers and PDQ machines. · Ability to plan and organisations staff and volunteer rotas and delivery schedules · IT literate. · Personal Qualities: · Ability to lead, coach, support and motivate a team · Excellent face to face and professional written communication skills · Entrepreneurial approach: ability to identify and develop opportunities. · Flexible team Player. · Flexibility of working hours to accommodate shop opening hours and activities as appropriate. |
Desirable skills and abilities · Audit processes. · Management of cash and financial management information. · Management of paid staff and volunteers. · Knowledge of local competition. |
