Our Business Administrators play a vital role in supporting the Council – helping us provide a better service to the people of East Sussex. It’s fast-paced and varied, but we’ll make sure you get all the training and support you need to succeed.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Business Administrator to provide support to Education Division Specialist Teaching Service Teams. We are part of a Local Authority dedicated to championing change for children.
You will be the first point of contact with parents/carers, students, agencies, schools and staff so will ensure the first impression given is of the highest standard whether in person or over the telephone. If you enjoy working in administration in a fast-paced environment and want to further this by providing a valuable role in public service, then we would love to hear from you.
The successful candidate will work in our Children’s Services Department providing high level administrative support to our Specialist Teaching Service Teams who support children and young people with Special Educational Needs, and their families, in East Sussex. You will have a desire to make a difference to the families we work with.
We are looking for candidates with:
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with a wide range of people, including managers, colleagues, schools, and families.
- Confidence managing multiple priorities, working independently, and staying calm under pressure.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Teams.
- Able to provide reception duties when working at Eastbourne Teaching and Learning Centre.
- Great organisational skills.
- Able to work both on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Ability to minute take.
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 15 hours, part time, Office based. 1 day in ETLC and 1 day in St Marys, Eastbourne, this will be discussed at interview.
