Purpose of the Role:

The Employment and Skills Team at ESCC sits within both the Communities, Economy and Transport and the Children’s Services Department and works to ensure that residents in the county have access to the skills support that they need in order to thrive and that businesses have access to a skilled workforce in order to be sustainable and grow. This role sits in the ESTAR team which is part of the Employment and Skills Team and works in partnership with stakeholders across East Sussex to increase work and learning opportunities for young people and adults facing disadvantage.

Provide administrative support so that colleagues are assisted to deliver services to the public. To contribute to meeting team priorities while maintaining own professional development.

As a Business Administration Apprentice, you’ll kickstart your career while making a real difference, supporting programmes that help people into work and learning, gaining hands-on experience and building your skills. As Business Admin Apprentice, you will:

  • Provide administrative support while developing practical business administration skills in a real work environment
  • Learn how to coordinate activities and communications across the ESTAR team and partner organisations
  • Support programmes that help young people and adults access work, training and learning opportunities
  • Gain experience in maintaining accurate records, data and documentation to support team delivery
  • Work alongside experienced colleagues across departments, building skills and
  • knowledge as part of your apprenticeship development

We are looking for candidates who:

  • have good IT skills and can create clear, professional documents
  • can organise their work and manage their time effectively
  • are accurate when entering and checking information, with good attention to detail
  • communicate clearly and work well as part of a team
  • have a positive attitude and are willing to learn, take initiative and develop new sk
