We offer a range of workshops to help with your job search and to build your skills and confidence. We have also produced some short video presentations to help you at this time. The videos will be posted on our YouTube Channel and are available for you to watch.

Meet our Trainers
Mike Taylor – Trainer
Mike joined the team in 2018 and now heads up our Getting a job workshops having worked in the financial services industry for over 35 years. Mike’s career culminated in a role as Head of Operations with responsibility for staff training and development. Mike is also a keen bowler (which he also coaches).
Chris Thompson – Trainer
Chris joined People Matter in 2022 after a 35 year career in the financial services and IT industries. As well as offering our workshop ‘IT skills for Jobseekers’, Chris also supports jobseekers in the Job Club. When not volunteering, Chris is a keen musician and sailor.
Sarah Mackenzie – Client Administrator and Trainer
Sarah joined People Matter as a trustee in 2020. Keen to learn more about how People Matter works she now provides support as a Client Administrator, working from home checking in with clients to update their circumstances. Sarah also brings her experience as a professional caterer and trainer to People Matter by providing our Level 2 in Food Safety and Hygiene.
Amanda Hughes – Operations Manager and Trainer
Amanda provides provides training, help and support to individual jobseekers on IT skills.
Ann Gillard – CEO and Trainer
Ann oversees our courses and training programmes to make sure we’re offering sessions that are helpful for jobseekers.
Carol Hyatt – Director of Operations and Trainer
Carol joined People Matter in 2010 originally to help and provide cover for the Getting a Job Workshops and was soon also supporting jobseekers using our Job Club. Carol has an MA in Education and a PGCE in Further Education and Training. Carol now reviews client feedback from our courses to make sure that clients can develop and progress.
