Confidence building a six week course for jobseekers aimed at improving confidence Friday mornings when available
Maths confidence a multi session course for jobseekers to improve their maths skills When available

Meet our Trainers

Margaret Maloney – Trainer

Margaret has been volunteering at People Matter for the last five years and heads up our Getting a Job workshops since taking early retirement from her job as a speech and language therapist with the NHS. Margaret’s role with the NHS involved training classroom assistants to help children with special needs in mainstream schools. Her hobbies include keeping chickens and learning to play the piano.

Carol Hyatt – Trainer

Carol joined People Matter in 2010 originally to help and provide cover for the Getting a Job Workshops and was soon also supporting jobseekers using our Job Club. Carol now offers our basic IT skills course. Carol has a PGCE in Further Education and Training.

Amanda HughesTrainer

Amanda provides provides training help and support to individual jobseekers on IT skills.

John Bourdon – Trainer

John leads our course on Advice and Options for Jobseekers aged 50+. John previously trained craftsmen and women in the construction industry.

Ann GillardGeneral Manager and Trainer

Ann oversees our courses and training programmes and along with Jo, Ann delivers our confidence building course.

Jo WhitemanDeputy Manager and Trainer

As a former teacher in the special education sector, Jo taught just about every subject but mainly Food Technology, Personal and Social Education and Careers. Jo provides our Confidence Building course with Ann and is also developing a range of other workshops for jobseekers.
