A 3 Star Hotel on the seafront, needs a Kitchen Porter.

  • Focus on keeping the kitchen clean at all times in order to have a hygienic environment for the chefs to work on.
  • Responsible for the cleaning of the kitchen area wherein a regular schedule of cleaning refrigerators, ovens, grills, freezers and food preparation areas is followed.
  • To handle the dishwashing, using a dishwasher or washing dishes manually.
  • To also complete mopping and sweeping of floors, cleaning up of floor drains and rubbish removal.
  • To be responsible to receive and store food deliveries as well as required by chef on duty
  • If required, to handle food in order to assist the chefs in preparing the ingredients needed. This involves the cutting of vegetables, putting on serving plates the ingredients for appetizer, and providing food ingredients to the chefs when they are cooking at the grills or ovens.
  • To complete cleaning records on a daily/weekly/ monthly basis as required
  • To sanitize work surfaces correctly after cleaning
  • To remove any rubbish/glass bins to an outside space for collection on appropriate days
  • To report any breakages, faulty or goods that need replacing
  • To cooperate with the head chef regarding chemical stocks and ordering
  • To wear supplied clean uniform or agreed similar when on duty
  • To follow all training given and health and safety procedures
  • Ensure safe and correct storage and use of ALL chemicals
  • To perform any required jobs throughout day as allocated by the Chefs.
